A lot of new restaurants opened this year in Austin. I've managed to narrow it down to my top 9 best new restaurants of 2018 that I visited and enjoyed. Everything from Asian fusion to New American cuisine. If you haven't been to any of these places listed below, I hope you consider them when you're deciding on your next place to eat!
Sour Duck Market
1814 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
Come for the patio, stay for the food, leave with some baked goods. This restaurant honestly has it all! I've been here a few times since it opened and everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious!
Loro
2115 S Lamar Blvd
Asian food meets Texas-style barbecue. The minds behind Uchi and Franklin Barbecue brought this restaurant to life. Come during dinner hours to order the brisket!
The Brewer's Table
4715 E 5th St
Farm-to-table dining meets craft beer. This place deserves a spot on my best new restaurants list because of the attention to detail given to the food. Also, the ambiance is probably one of the best on the East Side! Make sure you try some of the beer they brew in-house with your meal
Bird Bird Biscuit
2701 Manor Rd
Who doesn't love house-made BUTTERMILK biscuits?! As simple as it sounds, this restaurant does breakfast sandwiches best. If you're stopping by on the weekends, try to get there early. Some of the best sandwiches on the menu sell out quick!
Suerte
1800 E 6th St
The tacos - get the tacos! I will say that this Mexican-inspired restaurant is a bit pricey for most, but I would argue that the food speaks for itself. They have house-made masa and mezcal, so that means tacos and cocktails for everyone!
Hank's
5811 Berkman Dr
Hank's makes it on my best Austin restaurants list for their AMAZING happy hour menu! I could down so many of their frosés... I am not at all ashamed. Also, I'm not a huge fan of burgers, but they make some pretty damn good ones if I must say
Domo Alley-Gato
1600 E 6th St B
Tucked next to the Comal location of Ramen Tatsu-ya is the newest edition to the Tatsu-ya family. This funky take on food truck meets Japanese alley way dining, serves up some of the meanest Japanese curry in the city. Not to mention, the atmosphere transports you all the way to Japan, it's amazing!
Darcy's Donkey
1608 Barton Springs Rd
We finally have an authentic Irish pub in Austin! This is your place for meat pies, both traditional and not, and to wash down your meal with Guinness and Irish Whiskey
Fareground One Eleven
111 Congress Ave
Okay, so technically this isn't a restaurant, but this is Austin's first food hall, which landed it's spot in my list for the best restaurants of 2018. Stop by Henbit and get yourself a cookie or Dai Due for their take on tacos. This is the perfect place for lunch or a quick dinner downtown
Did any of these restaurants make it on your list for the best restaurants that opened in 2018? I'd love to know! Drop me a comment fam
With love,
