April is my birth month and this year, I'm turning the big 2-5!!! As a thank you to you guys and a nod to my birthday, I'm sharing MY 25 FAVORITE places to eat in Austin!
*Disclaimer: I wrote this post 200% hungry and without stopping. Without further ado and in no particular order, here are my 25 favorite places to eat and what you should order if you wanna eat like Me:
1. Bufalina
A Margherita and Roasted Mushroom pizza, with a glass of red wine
2. Lick Honest Ice Creams
A small (2 scoops), with one scoop each of whatever is on the seasonal menu, in a vanilla waffle cone
3. College Roadhouse
Korean Fried Chicken & Beer combo, with soy garlic and Korean sweet chili sauces, an order of Cheese Corn, Seafood Pancake, and a bottle or two of flavored soju
4. Patrizi's
Bring your own wine bottle, order the Bruschetta and a plate of their pasta! I usually pick one of the specials, or you can't go wrong with their Cacio e Pepe or Carbonara
5. Loro
Start off with some Chicken Karaage and the Crunchy Sweet Corn Fritters for the table. As for the meats, get the Smoked Beef Brisket, Malaysian Chicken Bo Ssam, and Char Siew Pork Belly. Pro-tip: Aim for happy hour if you can make it
6. Sour Duck Market
Spicy Pork Sando and the Soup of the Day. End your meal with a chocolate chip cookie
7. Ramen Tatsu-Ya
Miso-Hot with a spicy bomb. Add in brussels sprouts, menma (marinated bamboo), and kikurage (woodear mushrooms)
8. Las Trancas
3 tacos all on corn: Lengua (tongue), Barbacoa (brisket), and Cabeza (beef cheek). Get some VIP sauce and wash it all down with a Pineapple Jarritos

The Cadillac: Gorgonzola, Fig Preserves, Prosciutto di Parma, Parmesan, Balsamic Glaze. YUM!

The BEST veggie burger in town IMO. Don't forget your side of fries!
11. Poke House
Build your own poke bowl. This is what I ALWAYS get: Regular with salmon (2 scoops, sometimes I'll get a large, which has 3 scoops if I'm feeling hungry), 1/2 salad, 1/2 white rice, sweet ginger and garlic miso for the sauce, mix in crab salad, seaweed salad, cucumber, edamame, masago, scallions, red cabbage, ginger, extra spicy mayo, furikake, and garlic crisps
12. Xian Sushi and Noodles
Chicken stir fried Pappardelle noodles
13. Peached Tortilla
Charred brussels sprouts (my favorite ones in Austin). Taco trio, Lush Pork Belly Bowl, and a House Margarita
14. Tamale House East
My go-to order: Chicken Mole Tamale and a Fish Taco
15. Veracruz All Natural
Migas on corn and Chicken Mole on flour
16. Maiko Sushi Lounge
Go during reverse happy hour. This is the order that I will get 9 times out of 10: 3 pieces escolar nigiri, 2 pieces salmon nigiri, Warehouse District roll. And don't forget the happy hour priced Sake Bomb set
17. Be More Pacific
The only place in Austin that I can find sisig: crispy pork, mayonnaise, onions, served on a sizzling platter with raw egg, and lime
18. Gelateria Gemelli
Salted Caramel & Earl Grey gelato
19. Pho Please
Depending on my mood, I'll either order a bowl of Pho with rare steak & tendon, or a Rice & Pork plate. I always get an order of shrimp spring rolls too!
20. Magnolia Cafe
They serve breakfast all day here so obviously, I order a Benedict or omelet and a stack of pancakes. If it's on the weekend, I get the Alaskan Benedict that has smoked lox
21. Crawfish Shack & Oyster Bar
2 lbs of crawfish and 1 lb of shrimp. Make sure you ask for extra seasoning on the side
23. Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken
2 piece dark meat plate with a side of mac n cheese and seasoned fries
24. Sa-Tén
Chicken Teriyaki Kara-age plate with rice, kale salad or curry (depending on my mood), and potato salad
25. Bouldin Creek Cafe
Veggie Royale Sandwich, with basil aioli, add cheddar jack cheese and a side of kettle chips
